You don't really want to live on a fixed Income

I would venture to say that most seniors feel they lack the technical skills to publish mini websites. That is probably true, and learning what you need to know may be difficult.

However, seniors don't appreciate the value of what they have learned during their lives. Anyone who has spent a lifetime working at a job has stories and wisdom which other lack. If you were a janitor all your life you know things about cleaning supplies and techniques that homeowners don't know and would find valuable. That will be true for any occupation. All jobs develop specialized knowledge which the person who has it takes for granted, and the person who lacks it would pay to learn.

Seniors who feel they lack technical skills would laugh at the posts I often see in forums where someone who could code a website by hand has no idea of what to write about.

On the Teens page I suggest a joint venture with an old person as one solution to this problem. Let the younger ones build the site while you provide the content.

I am building a site on how to live on a fixed income, but I can already see the best answer is to never be required to do it. No matter how you adjust your life, and how frugal you live, at some point there is simply no fat to cut. I think mini sites have the potential to generate some extra cash that will increase over time and continue when and if you can no longer contribute to the site. I have pages on my oldest sites that were written in 1998 and which continue to generate income every month.

Mini sites are a way you can help your kids or grand kids too. If you are living on a fixed income and/or had medical expenses that took all your savings you can still use your time and energy to build mini sites. If you write about timeless subjects there is no reason these sites can't continue to generate income long after you are gone.

I can imagine an articulate grandparent with limited financial resources leaving behind a collection of mini sites that benefit a grandchild for years. In fact, with the way domain names have been increasing in value, the name alone might have a sizeable value in years to come.
