Busy now, but looking forward to slowing down?

This is the category in which I find myself. Since I was born in 1946 I could officially retire this year. That involves a lot of choices and decisions which I plan to write up in my Seniors Guidebook website. However, income from mini sites is already a major part of my retirement plan. For me, the key question will be if I can use the time I gain from retiring early to generate more income from my mini sites than I loose from taking early retirement.

Many folks of this generation will have chosen to maximize their income, savings, and investments so they are well prepared to retire at 66. There is nothing wrong with that. However, I think they would be wise to give at least some thought to what they will do with themselves when they retire. I believe we all need some kind of work to keep our minds as sharp as possible and prevent boredom.

Since mini sites are something that can start small and thrives on intermittent attention over time it would not take a large commitment of time to begin working on one or more well before retirement. The mini site could be as simple as a blog with occasional postings on a subject you find interesting. (Learn about easy to use and install blog software here.) The search engines will find your writings and if they are interesting other bloggers will link to your site. Over time that will build traffic.
