Mini websites are a way to generate an income outside of the "normal" job conditions and restraints. This makes them especially useful for those for whom a job is difficult or impossible. Learning how to build mini sites is a two step process. First you have to decide it's something you want to do, can do, and would enjoy doing. You have to do some online reading and studying to find and select a topic that works for you. The purpose of this website is to help you conquer this stage of the process.
This is not a site which will teach you all the technical details of how to build websites. The bookstores are filled with titles that do that. The purpose of this site is to suggest ways in which learning to build mini websites could be beneficial and provide the direction and encouragement to get you moving.
I was born in 1946. I belong to the first cohort of the population to be known as the Baby Boomers. I was fortunate, and somewhat unusual for my generation, to have gotten into computers early. In 1998 I decided to write my first website and much to my surprise, and, completely by accident, it became profitable.
Once you get a taste of income that comes in month after month from words you wrote years before (annuity income), the desire for more becomes very strong. As with many things in life it may be hard to repeat with intent what happened by accident the first time. However, once you have some income coming from your first site it will really, motivate you to develop more.
You should understand up front that developing profitable mini sites is slow. I think it is much like deciding you want to have an orchard or Christmas tree farm. You have to find and prepare the land (domain name and hosting), You have to plant seeds, water, fertilize, prune, and manage the trees as they grow. You will make mistakes, some will get sick and die, and it will take a long time before there is much fruit.
However, time goes by quickly and you will be surprised at how soon is seems like the first fruit is ripening. I can assure you that you will wish it was happening faster, but you will not be sorry you started.
